first_imgPaul McDermott’s Moville Minors are county A ChampionsMOVILLE Ladies have retained their county Minor A Championship title after a two point win over Fanad Gaels in one of the most closely contested finals in years.The 2-11 to 2-09 win at St Mary’s Convoy grounds this afternoon was end-to-end and entertaining.But Moville’s Eimear McLaughlin was player of the match and it was her ability to win the ball and take her scores which proved the difference in the end. Fanad Gaels led by 1-07 to 1-06 at half time and pushed on in the second half, with Caoimhe Walsh and Michelle Doherty excellent throughout.Ciara Harkin bagged a goal to put Moville a point ahead with Eimear McLaughlin adding points.But Hannah Shiels levelled with a free when it went into the net.With ten minutes left it was 2-09 each. Fanad had their chances but McLaughlin again and captain Nicole McDermott got the final two scores to queue celebrations in Inishowen.
