first_imgIn order to “celebrate the diversity and inclusivity of sport,” US sportswear giant Nike introduced plus size mannequins at its flagship store in London last week. A picture of the mannequin, wearing a black Nike sports bra and track pants, at the women’s floor of the Oxford Street store, was shared online and the news has been trending ever since.Activewear for several body types is now available at the women’s floor in the Oxford Street store of Nike. In its report, CNN shared a press release in which Nike said, “To celebrate the diversity and inclusivity of sport, the space will not just celebrate local elite and grassroot athletes through visual content, but also show Nike plus size and para-sport mannequins for the first time on a retail space.”NIKE pic.twitter.com/Jt6ywJs2jt(@GodlessGirl_) June 8, 2019The third floor of the store has been renovated to “highlight a full range of athlete figures,” the release said, adding that “the space shows multiple plus-sized and para-sport mannequins, a first for the city’s store.”Twitter is pretty much impressed with this and applauded Nike for their stance.
