Never Fight Alone Horde mode finally returns for Gears of War 4

first_imgBack in 2009, the Gears of War franchise introduced the world to the oft-copied Horde Mode. This fan-favorite game mode has been missing from the franchise for the past five years, so Gears of War enthusiasts should be happy to know that the upcoming Gears of War 4 will have a brand-new Horde Mode that takes everything they loved about the original and adds several new components to make it even better.Horde 3.0 features five classes: Soldier, Sniper, Scout, Heavy and Engineer, which are designed to let users play to their strengths and to encourage team work. There is also a “Fabricator” that is a deployable base of operations. This is great for letting players build defenses anywhere on the map. On top of having new player classes, there will also be new enemies like the Swarm and Deebees. The trailer features a new song from indie hip hop group, Run the Jewels. This marks the first time the rap group has collaborated with a game company. “Panther Like a Panther” is a track from the group’s upcoming album, “Run the Jewels 3.” According to Rod Fergusson, head of The Coalition Studios, the team behind Gears of War 4 listened to a lot of Run the Jewels while creating the game. The group’s Killer Mike and El-P will be playable in Gears‘ multiplayer mode.Gears of War 4 will be released for the Xbox One and for Windows PC on October 11. Those who are attending PAX Prime in Seattle this weekend will get a chance to check out Horde 3.0 for themselves. There will be an event held this Saturday at 6:30pm PST where players can compete to see who can survive through all fifty waves of the new Horde Mode. The “First to Fifty” event will be broadcast live on Twitch and feature the all-new “Relic” multiplayer map. <>last_img
